The Chicago Blitz have advanced to a 2-0 record after beating the Buffalo Lightning on March 29th. The Blitz stunned the Lightening 85-9, with the offense scoring 48, the defense scoring 20, and special teams scoring 17. RB Bryant "Speedy" Pascascio really shined with 3 rushing touchdowns and a contribution to the passing game. He used his aggressive style of running to keep plays going and get in the end zone. QB Tommy Kudyba also had a great game throwing for 2 touchdowns and added another one with his legs. Kudyba led the offense with his great throwing coordination and efficient passing (only 1 interception thrown). QB Anthony Iannotti subbed in late in the game and connected with no. 1 WR David Brown for a touchdown.
WRs Brian "Booby" Miles and Shawn McKeown also had receiving touchdowns (Miles added one rushing TD). The defense was what really helped the Blitz the most with 8 forced turnovers, a safety, 2 sacks and only 9 points allowed. DB Chris Muhammad reeled in three interceptions and also blocked an extra point and returned it for 2 points. DB Calvin Grant added another 2 interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. DE DeAndre Mosely recorded a sack and recovered a bad snap for a touchdown. Ultimately the game was never even close and the Blitz easily pulled out the victory. Next they take on the Cleveland Saints, whom they beat 46-24 in week 1, this Saturday April 4th at the Odeum in Villa Park.
